'Twas the night before [note] ... the volunteer gang got together to prepare for the show.
We arrived early (and Le Petit Trianon opened a bit late) ...
... but we got the show under way in due course. The overall theme was contemporary music, and the senior group of students had prepared a section based on Prokofiev's Romeo and Juliet. Five pieces were played with readings from Shakespeare's play interspersed between the performances.
Here's a perfomance by one of the advanced students.
Another special project of this showcase was an art show. Students submitted art work based on the pieces that they were playing. The quality of all the work was very high, topped off by three oil paintings in the advanced section!
Finally it was time for the awards ceremony. If there were one area for improvement, it would be in the acceptance speeches where the kids need to move beyond "I'd like to thank Mrs. Angela and my parents for making me practice."
